I Surrender

So you visit again,
And I, ducking and diving,
I pretend not to see,
Not to hear,
Not to feel,
You.

But what to do,
Now that you are here?
One by one,
My defences tumble,
As each logical argument,
Rational block,
Brittle wall,
Collapses.

And a warm beauty,
A golden melting,
Of ease, peace, and gratitude,
Envelops my body,
My chest,
My heart,
And I surrender,
To love.
