A five-minute short film

Scene 1

We see the captive, sat, strapped and bound to a chair. His shirt is disheveled and stained. He has a hood over his head. The hood is raised and he is also gagged. We see a hand slap him awake. Startled, he strains and stares at what is in front of him.

[Viewer now sees from captive’s perspective.]

We see a man, the captor, from his chest to the tops of his legs, sitting on a single bed, cradling a cat on his lap and stroking the cat. The view goes to black as the hood is replaced.

Scene 2

[Seen from captives perspective]

Again the hood is removed. We see the captor watering seedlings. We do not see the captor’s face.

[Close-up shot.] We see the fertile soil and water droplets forming and dripping from the leaves of the seedlings.

[Captive’s perspective.] The hood is replaced.

Scene 3

[Seen from captives perspective]

The hood is removed. We see only the captor’s body, not face, nor the woman he is fucking from behind. The captive struggles not to look, but watches. The hood is replaced.

Scene 4

The hood is removed. We see a young child, a girl, playing with a doll and staring emotionless at the captive. Again the captive struggles. The hood is replaced.

Scene 5

The hood is removed. We see the captive reflected in a mirror. The captive cries. The hood is replaced.

Scene 6

The hood is removed. The captor is violently killing the cat with a kitchen knife, smashing its body onto the single bed and spraying the captive’s face and shirt with blood. The captive is terrified. The hood is replaced.

Scene 7

The hood is removed. We see the captor again from chest to lap sitting on the single bed. He is sitting and presumably looking at the captive. His hands make short, exasperated movements towards the captive. The hood is replaced.

Scene 8

The hood is removed. The captor again sits stroking the same cat. The hood is replaced.
